Sheikh Jamal DC halt Kings’ winning streak
DHAKA, Feb. 13, 2021 (BSS)- Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club halted star-studded Bashundhara Kings winning streak when the holders were forced to play a tame goalless draw in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football held today at Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) here.
It was the first time in the ongoing league the Kings lost valuable points following their seven straight victories while it was the second occasion for Sheikh Jamal who shared a point with Abahani Limited, Dhaka in their previous encounter.
Despite the day’s outcome, Bashundhara Kings maintained their domination in the league table with 22 points from eight matches while Sheikh Jamal placed at third position with 17 points from seven matches.
In the day’s match, both the teams got several scoring chances but failed to convert any of those into a goal.
Bashundhara Kings will play their next match against Arambagh Krira Sangha scheduled to be held on Tuesday (Feb. 16) at Shaheed Dhirendranath Stadium in Cumilla while Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club will play against Uttar Baridhara Club on the same day at BNS.
Sunday’s matches: Bangladesh Police Football Club vs Chittagong Abahani Limited at BNS 3.30 pm and Brothers Union Club vs Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited BNS at 6 pm.
