‘Role of mass media to resist rumour and development journalism held in Khulna
KHULNA, Feb 13, 2021(BSS) – A view exchange meeting between Press Information Department (PID) and journalists on “Role of Mass Media to Protect Rumour and Development Journalism ” was held today at Khulna Circuit House Conference room.
Organized by Press Information Department (PID) Khulna, the Principal Information Officer of PID Suroth Kumar Sarkar addressed the meeting as chief guest and presented the key note paper.
Deputy Director of local government in Khulna Md Iqbal Hossain presided over the meeting while Khulna press Club (KPC) president S M Zahid Hossain and Khulna Union of Journalists (KUJ) president Munshi Md Mahbub Alam Sohag addressed as special guests.
Local Journalists of different media in Khulna said a vested quarter including a section of so called media men are spreading rumour through Facebook and twitter etc.
Law enforcing agencies including detectives must have strong vigilance to resist rumours and fabricated news .
They also suggested to bring those rumour mongers to book saying instigators who give like, comment and share at social media
PIO in his power presentation of the key note speech said various steps have been taken by the government against rumour mongers , and urged the journalists to discharge their duties with responsibly and devote to exercise objective journalism.
Deputy Press information officer of Khulna PID Zeenat Ara Ahmed delivered the welcome speech.
Journalists from different print, electronic and online media and editor cum publishers of local dailies attended the meeting.
