71 Rangpur professionals get PM’s grants during coronavirus situation

RANGPUR, Feb 13, 2021 (BSS) – Seventy-one jobless artists, technicians and
literary personalities here have received grants from Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina’s Relief and Welfare Fund in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.

Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan distributed cheques of Taka 10,000 among
each of the 71 beneficiary artists, cultural personalities, technicians,
poets and writers in a function held at Town Hall auditorium here on Friday
night as the chief guest.

The District Shilpokola Academy organised the function abiding by the
health directives to distribute the cheques among the beneficiaries to assist
them in overcoming the hardships being faced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Golam Rabbani, President of the
district Awami League (AL) Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, its General Secretary Advocate
Rezaul Karim Razu, President of city AL Shafiur Rahman Shafi and its General
Secretary Tushar Kanti Mandal and President of district Chhatra League Mehede
Hasan Rony were present as special guests.

Presided over by District Cultural Officer Nujhat Tabassum Rimu, the
cheques-recipient beneficiaries and cultural personalities attended the
function.

Advocate Rezaul Karim Razu said the country and its people are always safe
under the able leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the nation is
moving forward competing with the tough time.

To take the country forward, the roles of cultural personalities, artists,
poets, writers and everyone should be development oriented.

Shafiur Rahman Shafi said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has come forward to
assist the artists, poets, writers and cultural personalities like other
professionals during the coronavirus pandemic.

The chief guest said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina always remains beside the
people and extended assistance to all professionals to help them in
overcoming hardships during the COVID-19 pandemic period.
