Like other physicians, nurses and staff working at Rangpur Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospital (DCIH), its Superintendent Dr. SM Nurun Nabi took the COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday last at the booth in Rangpur Sadar Upazila Health Complex in Rangpur city.

“I did not experience any side effects like my other colleagues,” Dr. Nabi said, adding that physicians, nurses and other staff of the DCIH are now working with a reinforced commitment, dedication and courage after getting COVID-19 vaccine.

He called upon everyone to register them using the ‘SUROKKHA’ app and take the COVID-19 vaccine as per guidelines of the government free of costs to ultimately free the country from the deadly virus.

Talking to BSS, Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention Task Force and Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu said people are showing keen interest in taking the vaccine in a festive mood here.

The COVID-19 infection continues declining and recovery rate rising consistently during the last two months in the division where 15,084 patients among the total 15,792 infected people have already cured at the average recovery rate of 95.52 percent.

“Though the COVID-19 vaccination campaign is running efficiently amid a declining infection rate, people should wear masks while remaining outside and abide by the health directives to prevent further spread of the deadly virus,” Dr. Lyzu added.
