Boro cultivation going on in full swing in C’nawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Feb 12, 2021 (BSS) – The cultivation of boro paddy has
been going on in full swing in the district.

Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) office sources here said 92
percent of the cultivation target has been completed.

A total of 43,955 hectares of land has so far been brought under Boro
cultivation against the target of 47,050 hectares, they said.

10,485 hectares of land against the target of 11,840 hectares were brought
under Boro cultivation in sadar upazila 6,335 hectares against the target of
7,850 hectares in Shibganj upazila, 14,545 hectares against the target of
14,850 hectares in Gomostapur upazila, 6,640 hectares against the target of
6,950 hectares in Nachole upazila and 5,950 hectares against the target of
6,010 hectares in Bholahat upazila.

Deputy Director (DD) of the Chapainawabganj district office of DAE Md.
Nazrul Islam said the cultivation of Boro is likely to cross the target in
the district.

There is no fertilizer crisis or irrigation problem here, he added.
