‘Police-students relation can institute social peace

RAJSHAHI, Feb 11, 2021 (BSS)- Collective efforts of police and students can be the vital means of establishing peace in the society as youth forces have a vital role to this end.

‘There are enormous scopes of utilizing the youth forces towards establishing peace against all sorts of extremisms and crimes . As a whole, the young generation can play an supplementary role of the law enforcing agencies.

The observation came at a daylong workshop styled “Students Leadership Development” at Hotel Warishan in Rajshahi city today.

Bangladesh Centre for Communication Programmes (BCCP) organized the meeting in association with American Embassy in Dhaka.

Director of the Information Support Team of the American Embassy Kevin Kunanan addressed the workshop as a focal person.

Vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) Prof Rafiqul Islam Sheikh, BCCP Director and Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Shahjahan and Assistant Director Badal Halder also spoke.

Some 35 students from Rajshahi University, RUET and Rajshahi College and members of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police joined the workshop.

In his remarks, Kevin Kunanan said the workshop will contribute a lot towards building relations between police and students. Besides, the students will engage themselves in various nation building activities together with inspiring others.
