75 more test positive for COVID-19 in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, Feb 10, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 75 people were tested
positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 1,631 samples at
eight COVID-19 laboratories in the district.
Among the newly detected patients, 60 are from Chattogram city and 15
from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.
Civil surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told BSS that the number of
coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases reached 33,631 and among the total
infected persons, 26,304 are the residents of the port city and the rest 7349
are residents of different upazilas of the district.
Besides, the total number of recovered patients from coronavirus rose to
31,162 in the district with the healing of 41 more people in the last 24
hours.
A total of 31,162 coronavirus patients have so far recovered from Covid-
19 and the percentage of recovery rate stands at 92.67 percent in the
district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said.
The recovered patients were discharged from different home isolations
and Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospitals of the district as two consecutives
real-time PCR tests were found negative, he said.
Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said that the death toll from the virus rose to
368 with no fatalities reported afresh in the last 15 days.
Among the reported afresh fatalities 267 were the residents of the port
city and the rest 101 were the residents of different upazilas of the
district.
Besides, 1,554 patients are undergoing treatment at isolation units of
different hospitals in the port city.
