Merkel seeks shutdown extension until end of February: party sources
BERLIN, Feb 9, 2021 (BSS/AFP) – German Chancellor Angela Merkel will seek to extend strict curbs to fight the pandemic until at least the end of February, party sources said Tuesday.
“We would gain nothing if we left lockdown prematurely,” Merkel told members of her CDU party according to meeting participants, ahead of talks Wednesday to set the policy on the restrictions.
