Kings register 7th straight victory

DHAKA, Feb 8, 2021 (BSS)- Star-studded Bashundhara Kings
continued their dominance as they blanked Bangladesh
Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra by 3-0 goals in the
Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football held today at
Shaheed Dhirendranath Stadium in Comilla.

In the day’s match, Brazilian forward Robson,
Argentina’s forward Raúl Becerra and striker Tawhidul
Alam Sabuz scored one goal each to secure Kings’s
seventh straight victory in the league.

The league leaders Bashundhara Kings launched early
attack in the 3rd minute when Argentina’s forward Raúl
Becerra’s header from close range off a long throw from
Khaled Shafiei from left flank sailed harmlessly over
the cross bar.

Bashundhara Kings was deprived from another goal in the
9th minute when Brazilian forward Robson, after receiving
a cross from left wing, failed to send the ball home
from handshake distance despite finding Muktijoddha’s
custodian helpless under the bar.

In the next minute, Robson however gave Bashundhara
Kings a deserving lead with his own solo effort. This
time he did not make mistake to send the ball to the net
with a perfect righter footer angular shot.

Raúl Becerra doubled the lead for his team in the
45th minute. Taking a close back heal pass from Robson,
Becerra sent the ball with a superb placing shot from
inside the D-box.

After the resumption, striker Tawhidul Alam Sabuz
completed the winners’ tally scoring the third goal for
Bashundhara in the 75th minute with a gentle push from
goalmouth melee.
