MANIKGANJ, Feb 7, 2021 (BSS) – The COVID-19 vaccination campaign began here today with taking inoculation of Deputy Commissioner (DC) S M Ferdous, Superintendent of Police (SP) Rifat Rahman Shamim and Civil Surgeon (CS) Dr. Anwarul Amin Akonda.
Dr. Akonda told BSS that the vaccination programmes in all the seven upazilas of the district have started while vaccines will be given to the health workers, police, freedom fighters, administration officials, other front-liners and aged citizens on a priority basis.
He said, “Health workers and volunteers have already been trained to conduct the vaccination.”
He also said a total of 48 thousand doses of COVID-19 vaccine were received for the seven upazilas of the district.
Of them, 24 thousand vaccines will be given this month, while the rest 24 thousand doses will be administered in the next month.
