Covid-19 vaccination begins in Mymensingh.
MYMENSINGH, Feb 7,2021 (BSS)- The vaccination for Covid-19 began in Mymensingh this morning amid enthusiasm as part of countrywide programme.
State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid, MP, formally inaugurated the inoculation in Muktagacha Upazila Health Complex at 10.30 am.
Muktagacha Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abdullah Al Mansur, freedom fighters Shafir Uddin, Chandan Shaha and Bhuvan Das received vaccines at the inaugural ceremony.
During the ceremony, the state minister said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken a historic and glorious initiative to face the challenge for Covid 19.
“I have received the vaccine at first as state minister and also as a man of Mymensingh district but I did not feel any sign of side affect or any trouble till today,” he said and urged all to take vaccine after completion of registration.
Besides, Mymensingh City Corporation arranged vaccination programme at the Mymensingh Medical College Campus this morning. Mayor Ekramul Haque Teto formally inaugurated the programme by taking vaccine9 at 11,15 am .
Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) Prof.Dr.Lutful Hassan, civil surgeon ABM Moshiul Alam, additional police super Habibur Rahman, president of city AL Ehtashemul Alam, Secretary Of district AL Muazzem Hossen, Secretary of Mymensingh Press Club Babul Hossen and Dr, KR Islam ,among others, received the vaccines at the launching ceremony.
The vaccines are being given in 8 booths in the MMC Campus, said Civil Surgeon Dr, Mosheul Alam . A total of 14 both were set up for vaccination in the city area . Around 12 thousand five hundred people have been registered for vaccination.
