Sheikh Jamal DC maintain winning run in BPL

DHAKA, Feb 6, 2021 (BSS) – Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club
maintained their all-win run in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL)
Football defeating Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra by 4-2 goals held today
at Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) here.

In the day’s match, Gambian forward Pa Omar Jobe scored two goals
while his fellow mates Sulayman Sillah and Solomon King supported him
with one goal each to ensure Sheikh Jamal’s commanding victory on the
day after leading the first half by 2-0 goals.

Nigerian midfielder Ugochukwu Obi Moneke and Kyrgyzstan midfielder
Bakhtiyar Duyshobekov netted one goal apiece for Sheikh Russel.

In the day’s match, Gambian forward Sulayman Sillah opened account
scoring the first goal for Sheikh Jamal in the 38th minute while Pa
Omar Jobe doubled the lead in the 45+1st minute of the match.

After the resumption, Pa Omar Jobe further widened the margin
scoring his second and third for Sheikh Jamal in the 59th minute of
the match while Ugochukwu Obi Moneke pulled one back scoring the first
goal for Sheikh Russel in the 70th minute.

Solomon King scored the fourth goal for Sheikh Jamal in the 74th
minute converting a spot kick while midfielder Bakhtiyar Duyshobekov
reduced the margin scoring the second goal for Sheikh Russel in the
82nd minute from a penalty.

Sheikh Jamal played good football dominating the proceeding,
especially in the first half, and ensured their deserving victory
while Sheikh Russel KC was off-colored on the day.

With the day’s win, Sheikh Jamal moved up to the second position in
the league table with 15 points from five matches while Sheikh Russel
KC remained at their previous credit of 13 points playing six outings.

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club will play their next match against
Abahani Limited, Dhaka while Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra will face
Arambagh Krira Sangha both to be held on Tuesday (February 9) at the
same venue.

Sunday’s match: Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society vs Brothers
Union Club at BNS 4 pm.
