Momen urges local, foreign media to highlight country’s achievements
DHAKA, Feb 6, 2021 (BSS) – Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen today
urged local and foreign media to highlight Bangladesh’s achievements
instead of identifying it as poverty stricken like before.
“Densely populated country like Bangladesh had overcome its poverty
in a very short time under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina”, he said.
Foreign minister was delivering his speech as the chief guest at a
programme titled ‘Mujib Shoto Borshey Exim Bank’ at the Army stadium
in the capital, a press release said.
Momen said the world should be informed about Bangladesh’s enormous
development in last 12 years as well as the life, works and
characteristics of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman.
He said Bangabandhu spent a significant term of his life in jail as
he was forced to isolate from people, his family, because of his
remarkable struggle for the rights of Bangalees.
He urged the new generation to gain profound information about
sacrificial and patriotic leader like Bangabandhu.
Chief Coordinator of the National Implementation Committee for the
Celebration of Mujib Borsho, Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, spoke as
the special guest with Exim Bank Chairman Md. Najrul Islam Majumder in
the chair.
