Berlin calls in Russian ambassador over Moscow expulsions: ministry
BERLIN, Feb 6, 2021 (BSS/AFP) – Germany’s foreign ministry on Friday called in the Russian ambassador for “urgent talks” after Moscow expelled diplomats from three European countries for allegedly taking part in protests in support of jailed Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny.
“State Secretary Miguel Berger called the Russian Ambassador to the foreign ministry today for urgent talks, and made the German position very clear to him,” the ministry said in a statement. One of the expelled diplomats is German.
