Bank of England holds interest rate at record-low 0.1%
LONDON, Feb 4, 2021 (BSS/AFP) – The Bank of England on Thursday left its key interest rate and stimulus unchanged, but slashed its 2021 growth forecast owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
Following its first policy meeting of the year, the BoE kept its main rate at a record-low 0.1 percent and cut its 2021 growth forecast to 5.0 percent from 7.25, warning that “Covid continues to hit spending, incomes and jobs in the UK”.
