NATORE, Feb 4, 2021 (BSS) – Detective Branch of police held a man with three lizards (Takshak) from Bagatipara Upazila of the district this morning.
The man was identified as Saiful Islam, 44, hailed from Shanalpara village in the Upazila.
Officer-in-Charge of Natore district DB police Md Jalal Uddin said on information they conducted a raid at Shanalpara and held Saiful with those endangered animals which were kept in a cage at his house.
Saiful Islam was sent to jail by a court order this noon and the lizards were handed over to Natore Forest Department this afternoon.
Later, the lizards worth about TK 50 lakh were sent to Rajshahi Wildlife Preservation and Rehabilitation Centre, said Sattendranath Sarker of Natore Forest Department.
