DSCC 1st Inter ward sports competition to begin on Feb 10
DHAKA, Feb 4, 2021 (BSS) – The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) 1st Inter Ward Sports Competition (football and cricket) will begin on February 10 in the city.
The inauguration match of football event will be held at Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) on February 10 while the opening match of cricket event will be held at outer stadium adjoining the BNS on February 16, said a press release today.
A total of 63 football teams and 64 cricket teams from 75 wards of the DSCC will compete in the knock out basis sports festival which is going to be held for the first time marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Organised by DSCC, a total of thirteen grounds in the city will host the all football and cricket matches of the competition.
The champions of both football and cricket teams will have Taka five lacs while the runners-up teams will get Taka three lakh as prize money.
The man of the tournament in football and man of the series in cricket will get Taka twenty thousand each.
Modhumoti Bank Limited is the platinum sponsor while Orion Group is the gold sponsor of the competition.
In this regards, a draw ceremony and press conference was held today at Mayor Hanif Auditorium of Nagar Bhaban to provide all the details of the meet.
DSCC Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, Bangladesh Football Federation president Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin, Modhumoti Bank Limited managing director Shofiul Azam, DSCC councilors and officials were present in the draw ceremony.
