Shadman injury scare for Bangladesh

CHATTOGRAM, Feb 4, 2021 (BSS)—Bangladesh opener Shadman Islam left the ground after suffering an ankle injury during the second day’s game against West Indies at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium today.

The incident happened in the last session when Nkrumah Bonner’s shot hit straight at the ankle of Shadman who was fielding at silly point.

After being hit, it was not possible to field for him as he walked off the ground with the help of physio Julian Calefato.

Saif Hasan then replaced him in fielding. Shadman scored 59 after opening the innings in the match.

Meanwhile Shakib Al Hasan who was playing the Test after recovering from the injury, also left the ground after bowling six overs. He conceded 16 runs and went wicket-less in his six overs.
