Lecture competition on electricity week held in Gaibandha
GAIBANDHA, July 13, 2018 (BSS) – A subject-based lecture competition
organized by district administration on electricity and energy week
observance was held at the auditorium of Zila Shilpakala Academy of the town
here on Thursday afternoon.
A total of 17 students of school and colleges of seven upazilas in the
district took part in the competition.
Asibul Hasan, a student of class nine of Bonarpara Kazi Azhar Ali High
School stood first, M. Rafiul Islam, a student of class nine of Gaibandha
Siddiqia Fazil Madrasha, second and M. Abdullah Al Nahian, a student of class
ten of Gaibandha Govt. Boys’ High School, third in the contest.
Acting deputy commissioner (DC) Muhammad Mizanur Rahman addressed the
function as the chief guest and head teacher of Gaibandha Govt. Boys’ High
School Shahana Banu, general secretary of ZSA Promotosh Saha were present at
the event as the special guests.

Acting DC Muhammad Mizanur Rahman in his speeches said the government led
by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had taken up initiative to generate required
electricity in a bid to bring all the villages of the country under 100
percent electrification programme by 2018.
Terming the students as the future of the nation the acting DC urged the
students to prepare themselves properly to build happy and prosperous country
and well-equip with scientific information and technological knowledge to
face the challenges of the 21st century.
Later, the guests formally distributed prizes and cash TK 1000 to the
winners each on behalf of the district administration.
A number of students, teachers and guardians including journalists were
present on the occasion.
