Govt, AFD sign credit facility agreement

DHAKA, Feb 3, 2021 (BSS) – A Credit Facility Agreement (CFA) was signed
between the government and the Agence FranØaise de D,veloppement (AFD) with a
view to providing assistance to households and individuals affected by the
ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Fatima Yasmin, secretary of the Economic Relations Division of the
Ministry of Finance and Chassatte Benoit, country director of the Agence
FranØaise de D,veloppement (AFD) signed the agreement on behalf of their
respective sides, said a press release.

It is a loan to the government of Bangladesh, with a repayment period of
twenty years and grace period of seventy years.

This fund would constitute a proposed restructuring and additional
financing of the World Bank supported Cash Transfer Modernization (CTM)
project.

Department of Social Services under the ministry of Social Affairs will
implement the project, it added.

The Agence FranØaise de D,veloppement is the bilateral development agency
implementing official development assistance on behalf of the French
government. It supports development projects for urban development and
infrastructures, power and green energy, corporate and social responsibility.
