AL hails for passing Khulna Sheikh Hasina Medical University bill in JS
KHULNA, Feb 3, 2021 (BSS) – Leaders of Awami League and its activists today brought out a jubilant procession to hail Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for passing Sheikh Hasina Medical University Bill- 2021 in Khulna to establish a medical university after her name.
The participants in the jubilant procession, carrying colourful banners, festoons and placards, chanted different slogans hailing the Sheikh Hasina and paraded different thoroughfares of the city yesterday afternoon.
Organised by Khulna district unit of Awami League, (AL) the jubilant procession congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for passing the bill to establish the medical university after her name.
Later, a discussion meeting was held in front of the party office on Jashore Road near Shaheed Hadis Park in the city.
Chaired by district AL president and chairman of Zila Parishad Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid, the meeting was addressed, among others, by advocate Sujit Adhikary, Zobayer Ahmed and Delwara Begum.
The meeting also hailed the prime minister and her government for taking necessary steps to set up the “Sheikh Hasina Medical University”.
Meanwhile, different organizations including State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian, Khulna City Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque, Parliament members Sheikh Helal Uddin, Salahuddin Jewel, Narayan Chandra Chanda, Salam Murshedi and Akteruzzaman Babu hailed prime minister for passing “Sheikh Hasina Medical University, Khulna Bill, 2021” in the parliament on Monday.
A bill titled “Sheikh Hasina Medical University, Khulna Bill, 2021” was passed in the parliament Monday to set up a medical university in Khulna division for expanding the facilities for higher medical education, research and healthcare services in the region
