Former MP Salahuddin jailed in subversive activity case

DHAKA, Feb 03, 2021 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today ordered to send Salahuddin Ahmed, BNP’s commerce secretary and former Dhaka-5 MP, in a case over setting vehicles on fire on.

Salahuddin surrendered in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan 7th Joint Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad Aftabuzzaman and applied for bail.

After the hearing, the court denied his bail and ordered him to be sent to jail.

According to the complaint of the case, on January 30, 2015, a passenger bus (Dhaka Metro J 11-2249) was set on fire by petrol bomb and some vehicles were vandalized in front of Gulistan Toll Plaza of Mayor Hanif Flyover.

Later, Police filed a case at Wari police station in this regard.

On August 12, 2015, Wari Police Station SI Shah Alam filed chargesheet against 34 people including Salahuddin.

Salahuddin was a fugitive from the beginning of the case.
