4 submit nominations for mayoral post in Madarganj municipality polls
JAMALPUR, Feb 2, 2021 (BSS) – On the last day of submitting nomination paper, four candidates today submitted nomination papers for mayoral post in Madarganj municipality polls.
Assistant Returning Officer and Madarganj Upazila Election Officer Md Jaman Hossain Chowdhury said four candidates – incumbent Mayor Mirza Golam Kibria Kabir (AL), Md Abdul Gafur (BNP), Md Zahid Hassan (Jatiya Party) and Md Belal Hossain (Ind) submitted the nomination papers.
Besides, 26 candidates submitted nomination papers for 9 ward councilors and 8 candidates for 3 women reserved councilor posts.
The assistant returning officer said the scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on February 4 and withdrawal on February 11.
The voting will be held on February 28, he added.
