Four submit nominations for mayoral post in Islampur municipality polls
JAMALPUR, Feb 2, 2021(BSS) – On the last day of submitting nomination papers of Islampur municipality polls, four candidates submitted nomination papers for mayoral post.
Returning Officer and Islampur Upazila Nirbahi officer SM Mazharul Islam said four mayoral candidates – incumbent mayor Md Abdul Kader Sheikh (AL), Md Rezaul Karim Dhali (BNP), Md Anisur Rahaman (Islami Andolan Bangladesh) and SM Jahangir (Ind)submitted the nomination papers.
Besides, 37 candidates submitted nomination papers for 9 ward councilors and 11 candidates for 3 women reserved councilor posts.
Returning Officer, SM Mazharul Islam said the scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on February 4 and withdrawal on February 11.
The voting will be held on February 28, he added.
