Satkhira district AL president Munsur Ahmed passes away
SATKHIRA, Feb 2, 2021(BSS) – Satkhira district Awami League (AL)
president, former Member of Parliament and valiant freedom fighter Munsur
Ahmed passed away last night at the age of 73.
He breathed his last at around 11:30 pm at a hospital in the capital city.
According to family sources, he was diagnosed with COVID-19 on 28 November
last year, and was undergoing treatment at Satkhira CB hospital.
He tested negative for COVID-19 later, but due to various physical
complications his condition worsened.
On January 12, Munsur was taken to Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in
Dhaka for advanced treatment.
Munsur Ahmed took part in the 6-point and 11-point movements and was a
heroic fighter in the great War of Liberation.
He was the general secretary of the district Awami League from 1980-98 and
from 2015 he was the president of the district Awami League till his death.
The veteran politician was also associated with innumerable social,
religious and cultural institutions of Satkhira.
