Curriculum being modified to improve standard of education: Dipu Moni

DHAKA, Jan 31, 2021 (BSS) – Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni today said the curriculum for students is being modified to improve the standard of education.

“In this regard, the government is giving significant importance on ICT education and technical-based education including infrastructural development and training for teachers,” she said.

She was speaking at an inaugural ceremony of imparting training of the master-trainers of the primary school teachers’ on English subject as the chief guest at a city hotel.

Putting emphasis on giving training to teachers, she said training is very much important for teachers as the condition of students, who are studying English as a mandatory subject, is not satisfactory.

She also lauded the arrangement of training for teachers of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education (MoPME) and British Council as it is a time-befitting step for the betterment of the teachers as well as students.

Speaking on the occasion as the special guest, the State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossen informed that English version will be introduced in one government school in every district to improve quality of education in the country.

The state minister added that the pilot project, of introducing English version system in government schools, will start soon.

The synopsis of the activities will be sent to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as the approval from the premier is needed for starting the project.

Primary and Mass Education Secretary Golam Md Hasibul Alam, Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education Alamgir Muhammad Mansurul Alam and senior officials of the British High Commission and British Council were present, among others, on the occasion.
