Police arrest 6 inter district dacoits
MANIKGANJ, Jan 29, 2021 (BSS) – Police have arrested six members of an
inter district dacoit gang from different areas in Dhaka district and rescued
cigarettes worth around Tk 80 lakh.
The arrested were identified as Md Hasan Rana, 37 of Nagaon district,
Salahuddin, 38 of Dinajpur district, Md Nurujjaman, 51 of Pabna district,
Kawsar Hossain, 26 of Gaibandha district, Md. Saiful Islam, 43 of Sirajganj
district and Md. Panna, 42 of Faridpur district, said Additional Police Super
of Manikganj Bhashkar Saha.
He said the gang in guise of DB police hijacked a cigarette-laden truck on
January 18.
Later, salesman of AP Agrani Trading Corporation Ltd, a distributor of
British – American Tobacco Bangladesh ltd, filed a case in this connection.
Following the case, police conducted drives at different places in the
district and arrested the six people on Thursday.
