Rajnath arrives in city tomorrow

DHAKA, July 12, 2018 (BSS) – Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh arrives
here tomorrow on a three-day official visit to discuss ways and means to
further strengthen security cooperation and countering terrorism.

Upon his arrival at Bangabandhu Air Base at 4:30pm by a special aircraft,
Singh will be received by his Bangladesh counterpart Asaduzzaman Khan,
official sources said here today.

The Indian home minister, who will lead a 12-member delegation, will meet
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday morning. He will hold a meeting with
his Bangladesh counterpart Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Sunday morning.

Various issues relating to radicalization of youths by the terrorist
groups, border issues, fake currencies, border killings, cattle smuggling,
visa issues, movement of illegal immigrants and Rohingya issues are expected
to be discussed during the meeting.

The Indian home minister along with his Bangladesh counterpart Asaduzzaman
Khan will open a mega Indian Visa Application Center at Jamuna Future Park in
the city after his meeting with the Prime Minister on Saturday.

On Saturday afternoon, the Indian Home Minister will visit Bangladesh
Police Academy, Sardah. During the visit, Rajnath will pay tribute to Father
of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at the
portrait of Bangabandhu at Bangabandhu Museum on Sunday.

He will also visit Dhakeshwari Temple and will offer prayers there after
visiting the Bangabandhu Museum in the city’s Dhanmondi area.

Sources said three bilateral cooperation documents including revised
travel arrangements-2018 are likely to be signed during the visit. Rajnath
along with the members of his entourage will join a dinner to be hosted by
his Bangladesh counterpart on Saturday.

He will leave Dhaka for New Delhi on Sunday afternoon.
