‘Bangabandhu and Bangladesh inseparable’

RANGPUR, Jan 28, 2021 (BSS) – High officials at a discussion today said Bangabandhu and Bangladesh are inseparable and thinking about an independent Bangladesh without Bangabandhu is not at all possible.

They were addressing the discussion on the life and works of Bangabandhu and his contribution to maintaining communal harmony organised by Rangpur divisional office of the Islamic Foundation at Town Hall auditorium in the city.

Secretary to the Ministry of Religious Affairs Md. Nurul Islam attended the discussion as the chief guest with Divisional Commissioner Md. Abdul Wahhab Bhuiyan in the chair.

Deputy Inspector General for Rangpur Range Police Devdas Bhattacharya, Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md. Abdul Alim Bhuiyan and Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan, addressed the discussion as special guests.

Rangpur Divisional Director of the Islamic Foundation Agriculturalist Md. Nurul Islam delivered welcome speech in the event participated by heads of government departments and organisations, religious leaders and thinkers and civil society members.

The speakers said Bangabandhu struggled throughout his life for welfare of people and set a unique illustration of communal harmony in Bangladesh aiming at building a developed ‘Sonar Bangla’ free from injustice, deprivation and discrimination.

They said Bangladesh is now a dazzling instance of communal harmony as the able daughter of Bangabandhu and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has established the spirit of the War of Liberation and realised Bangabandhu’s dream of building a secular Bangladesh.

The chief guest said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had worked selflessly for people’s welfare throughout his life and Bangladesh is advancing ahead resolutely to materialise his dream of building a developed ‘Sonar Bangla.’

Highlighting the significance of religious teaching in terms of social tranquility, he called upon all religious leaders to spread the best teaching among common people for establishing sustainable communal harmony in the society.
