Bus-truck collision kills 14, injures 38 in western Cameroon

YAOUNDE, Jan 27, 2021 (BSS/XINHUA) – At least 14 people were killed and 38
others badly injured when a 70-seater capacity bus collided with a truck
early Wednesday on a busy highway in Cameroon’s West region, according to
local police.

The collision, which resulted in a fireball that partly burned both
vehicles, occurred at about 3:30 a.m. local time on a steep road near the
town of Dschang, according to police officer Jones Nanda.

“Fourteen corpses have already been removed from the debris. We are still
in search of more bodies,” Nanda told Xinhua on phone.

Those injured have been taken to a nearby hospital, according to
officials.
