Bangladesh Ambassador presents credentials to Colombian President

Dhaka, July 12, 2018 (BSS) – Bangladesh Ambassador to the USA Mohammad
Ziauddin presented the Letters of Credence as the non-resident Ambassador to
Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos at the Presidential Palace at Bogota
in Colombia on July 10.

During his brief discussion with the Colombian President after presenting
the letters of credence, Ziauddin conveyed the warm greetings on the behalf
of the President and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, and extended their
invitation to him to visit Bangladesh, according to a press release received
here today.

Ambassador Ziauddin said: “Bangladesh and Colombia enjoy the best of
relationship and it is now time to explore untapped potential of the two
countries for further strengthening the relations in all directions.”

He said Bangladesh and Colombia had always been cooperating in all
international fora, particularly in the United Nations, adding that his prime
objective as the Ambassador to Colombia was to explore the potential for
development and deepening cooperation and overall relations between the two
countries and their people.

Colombian President Santos said the two countries had common goals and
aspirations, and they would continue to work together for strengthening the
bilateral ties.

Earlier, the Bangladesh envoy attended a luncheon hosted by Foreign
Minister of Colombia Maria Angela Holguin on the occasion of the presentation
of the letters of credence.

He also met senior officials of the Colombian Ministry of Foreign
Affairs on his arrival in Bogota.
