European stock markets rebound at open
LONDON, July 12, 2018 (BSS/AFP) – Europe’s main stock markets rebounded
slightly at the open on Thursday following a recovery in Tokyo.
London’s benchmark FTSE 100 index rose 0.2 percent to 7,610.46 points
compared with the close on Wednesday.
Frankfurt’s DAX 30 index climbed 0.4 percent to 12,464.06 points and the
Paris CAC 40 grew 0.3 percent to 5,369.19.
World stocks had slumped on Wednesday after Washington threatened to
hammer Beijing with tariffs on a further $200 billion of Chinese imports,
ratcheting up the global trade war.
