Fire at Kamlapur garment factory under control
DHAKA, Jan 24, 2021 (BSS) – A fire that broke out in a garment factory at city’s Kamlapur has been brought under control this morning.
The fire broke out in the godown of ‘Olio Apparels’ garment factory on the 6th floor of a seven-storey building adjacent to the BRTC bus terminal at 7.40am today.
Upon receiving the news, 10 units of the fire service went to the spot and managed to bring the fire under control around 9 am, said Ershad Hossain, official of the Fire Service Control Room.
He also said that the blaze was completely extinguished by 11:30 am.
Motijheel Police Station sources said that abandoned clothes of the factory were kept on that floor.
The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
However, no casualty was reported over the fire incident.
Earlier this morning, the workers saw smoke and informed the fire service.
