3rd round of BPL begins tomorrow
DHAKA, Jan 22, 2021 (BSS) – After a day recess, the third round of
Bangladesh Premier League Football begins tomorrow (Saturday) with
three matches are billed for the day at two separate venues across the
country.
On the day, Bashundhara Kings will take on Brothers Union Club at
Shaheed Dhirendranath Stadium in Comilla at 3 pm, six times BPL
champions Abahani Limited, Dhaka face Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends
Society at Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) at 3.30 pm and
Bangladesh Police Football Club meet Uttar Baridhara Club at 6 pm at
BNS.
Bashundhara Kings dominate the league table with six points from
two matches while Brothers Union Club failed to secure any point from
the same number of matches.
On the other hand, Abahani Limited, Dhaka placed at second position
also with six points from two matches while the traditional old Dhaka
outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society have one point from the
same number of outings.
Bangladesh Police Football Club failed to secure any points losing
both their previous two matches while Uttar Baridhara failed to open
their account from one match.
Earlier, Bashundhara Kings beat Uttar Baridhara Club by 2-0 goals
in their league opening match and defeated Bangladesh Police Football
Club by 2-1 goals in their second match while Brothers Union Club lost
to 1-2 to Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra in their league opening match and
suffered a 0-2 defeat to Abahani Limited, Dhaka in their second league
match.
Abahani Limited, Dhaka edged past Bangladesh Police Football Club
by 1-0 goal in their league opening match and blanked Brothers Union
Club by 2-0 goals in their second match.
Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society split point with Saif
Sporting Club playing out to a 1-1 goal draw in their league opening
match and lost to Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra by 0-1 goal in their
second league’s match.
Bangladesh Police Football Club lost to Abahani Limited, Dhaka by
0-1 goal in their league opening match and suffered a 1-2 goal defeat
to Bashundhara Kings in their second group match.
Uttar Baridhara Club lost to Bashundhara Kings by 0-2 goals in
their league opening match.
