Govt. working for development of marine tourism: Mahbub
DHAKA, Jan 21, 2021 (BSS) – State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali today said the government is working for the development of marine tourism and some steps have already taken in this regard.
“The government is working for development of of marine tourism. Bangladesh Tourism Board and Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation already have taken some activities for developing tourism industry on cruise based tourism in Bangladesh,” he said.
The state minister made the remarks as chief guest while inaugurating the program on `Padma Cruise’ organized by Dhaka Cruise and Logistics at Louhajang- Shimulia Ghat of Munshiganj.
Mahbub Ali said, “Our national tourism development policy emphasized the development of marine tourism”.
“Padma Bridge is now an important tourist spot and the government is working to introduce tourist facilities along the Padma Bridge for tourists visiting the bridge,” the state minister said.
Shamima Jafrin, wife of the State Minister, Deputy Director of Bangladesh Tourism Board Hajera Khatun, Louhajang Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Humayun Kabir and Additional Superintendent of Police of Munshiganj district Md. Asaduzzaman were also present on the occasion.
Chairman of Dhaka Cruise and Logistics Mohiuddin Helal presided over the function.
