1,030 homeless families to get houses in Netrakona
NETRAKONA, Jan 21, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 1,030 landless, homeless families of ten upazilas of the district are going to get brick-built houses as a gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the occasion of ‘Mujib Barsho’ the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The houses will have supply of electricity, pure drinking water and sanitation facilities, deputy commissioner (DC) Kazi Mohammad Abdur Rahman informed at a press conference held at his official conference room here today.
The houses have been being constructed in different areas of the district by allocating government khas land for the landless and homeless people at the special initiative of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The DC said.
On behalf of Ashrayan Project-2 of the Prime Minister’s Office, the Department of Disaster Management (DDM) is constructing the houses.
Main thrust of the initiative is to improve the standard of living ensuring basic needs of the landless, homeless and distress people, the DC said.
