Court sends Ex-Upazila Chairman to jail in ACC case
CHATTOGRAM, Jan 21, 2021 (BSS) – A Chattogram court today sent to jail former upazila chairman of Teknaf upazila under Cox’s bazar district Jafar Ahmed in a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission on charge of money embezzlement and concealing information about properties.
The court of Metropolitan Sessions Judge Sheikh Ashfaqur Rahman has also fixed March 23 for hearing the case.
ACC Deputy Assistant Director Riaz Uddin filed the case against Jafar Ahmed for allegedly acquiring assets worth around Tk 8.69 crore from unknown source of income and concealing the information.
