4 adulterated drug sellers jailed and fined in C’nawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Jan 20, 2021 (BSS)- A mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested four persons and jailed them for different terms for selling Indian unlicensed and adulterated drugs from Nachole in the district this afternoon.

The arrestees are Md. Bidyut Ali, 23 of Fakirpara, Md. Parag Ali, 35 of Miapara, Md. Mohiuddin, 52 of Kashipur and Md. Himel, 35 of Kashipur all under Gomostapur upazila of the district.

A mobile court of RAB-5 from Chapainawabganj camp with executive magistrate Khadiza Begum and Assistant Director of Drug Administration Fuara Yasmin conducted a raid at Sonaichandi Bazar under Nachole upazila and arrested them on charges of selling unlicensed and adulterated Indian drugs.

RAB also seized huge amount of different drugs from their drug shops.

The mobile court jailed three persons on different terms and the fourth one was fined TK 5,000.

The seized drugs were destroyed instantly and the realized money was deposited with the government treasury, RAB sources added.

The sources further said the convicts were sent to the jail.
