Bangladesh dreams of becoming a developed country: Khalid

DHAKA, 20 Jan, 2021 (BSS) – State minister for shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury today said Bangladesh has started dreaming of becoming a developed country from a developing country.

“Bangladesh has started dreaming of being a developed country from a developing country as the country is moving towards development and prosperity under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” the state minister said.

Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said these while distributing warm clothes and wheelchairs among destitute and cold-hit people in Biral upazila under Dinajpur district, said a press release.

Biral upazila Awami League President Sabujar Siddique Sagar presided over the function while Upazila Parishad Chairman AKM Mostafizur Rahman Babu and upazila unit Awami League General Secretary Ramakand Roy, among others, were present.

Khalid Mahmud said even in the midst of this pandemic, Bangladesh’s reserves stand at 43 billion US dollars and the per capita income has exceeded $2,000.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been facing the pandemic situation with far-sight vision and wisdom…the World Health Organization has congratulated the Prime Minister for doing tremendous job during the Coronavirus pandemic,” he added.

Khalid Mahmud said, “The corona vaccine is coming…Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has already announced that the vaccine will be provided free of cost.”
