DHAKA, Jan 20, 2021 (BSS) – The Institute of Cost and Management
Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) arranged a discussion on ‘Artificial
Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain Applications in Capital Market’ on Tuesday
at ICMAB in the capital.
Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Chairman Professor
Dr. Shibli Rubaiyat-ul Islam attended the programme as the chief guest while
President of South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) AKM Delwer Hussain
FCMA was present as special guest, said a press release here today.
Managing Director of Stellar Consulting Group (Singapore) Dr. Hajik
Mohammad was the resource person at the discussion.
Shibli said, “Certified Management Accountant (CMA) profession is very
important for our economic development. Those who are engaged in this
profession have an important responsibility to create transparency in the
economy and apart from the implementation of cost audit, he would try his
best to take appropriate steps for the development of the profession.”
AKM Delwer called for further expansion of job opportunities for CMA
professionals.
He appealed to the chief guest for proper assistance so that they can play
an important role in the development of the national economy by utilizing
their professional skills.
If the cost audit is implemented, the country’s economy will develop and
revenue will increase, the special guest said, adding “So, it is more
important to ensure this in the interest of the state.”
ICMAB President Jasim Uddin Akond highlighted the cost and management
accounting profession and its need in various important sectors of the
country.
On behalf of the Institute, he drew the attention of the chief guest to the
development of the national economy by making it appropriate to make cost
audit compulsory in all limited companies as per government guidelines.
ICMAB Vice-President Md. Mamunur Rashid FCMA presented comments and views
on the topic at the event while former chairman of ICMAB Dhaka Branch Council
G M Omar Farooq Chowdhury conducted the function.
ICMAB Treasurer Md. Ali Haider Chowdhury FCMA gave vote of thanks to all
the participants who joined the event.
