Humayun urges CMSME entrepreneurs to focus on product diversification
DHAKA, Jan 20, 2021 (BSS) – Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun today urged the cottage, micro, small, and medium sized enterprise (CMSME) entrepreneurs to provide more focus on product diversification for sustaining in the competitive market.
“In this age of e-commerce, CMSMEs need to bring diversified products to the customers through participating in the digital platforms. Though large industrial units were closed during the Corona epidemic, the country’s economy is still thriving for the activities of CMSMEs,” he said.
The minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of SME Shop Bangladesh, a digital platform for thousands of entrepreneurs, organized by the Bangladesh SME Forum, said a press release.
BSCIC Chairman Mushtaq Hasan and General Secretary of Economic Reporters’ Forum SM Rashidul Islam were present as special guests at the function.
Humayun said the government is taking all arrangements gradually so that CMSMEs can smoothly get the incentive package, announced by the Prime Minister during the Corona period.
Even in the midst of Covid-19, he said, the entrepreneurs have revived the economy through their own efforts and the steps taken by the government.
“Our government is working for the development of CMSME entrepreneurs from district, upazila and village level,” he added.
