GAIBANDHA, JAN 20, 2021 (BSS) – One community clinic and nine Union Health and Family Welfare Centres (UH&FWCs) under Palashbari upazila in the district yesterday got examination beds for the patients, chairs for waiting rooms, ceiling fans, plastic chair tables, chairs with foam from the Local Government Support project (LGSP) being implemented by the respective union parishads of the upazila.
A simple function was also held at the conference room of Palashbari upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) with UNO Kamruzzaman Nayan in the chair.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin attended the function and addressed it as the chief guest and upazila chairman AKM Moksed Chowdhury Bidyuit and deputy director of the department of Family Planning Saiful Islam were present at the event as the special guests.
Speaking on the occasion DC Abdul Matin said the gigantic project of the government is being implemented in all the 9 UPs of the upazila for overall development of the unions and its people.
The DC also thanked the bodies of the UPs for taking such the good initiative to give examination beds and other room materials to be used for the UH&FWCs of the upazila considering the welfare of the patients and visitors.
Later, the DC along with other guests formally handed over the above mentioned materials to the staff of UH&FWCs.
A number of upazila level officials, staff of Family Planning Department, UP Chairmen and members, local elite and journalists were present on the occasion.
