SANGSAD BHABAN, Jan 19, 2021 (BSS) – Sheikh Hasina Medical University, Khulna Bill-2021 was placed in the Jatiya Sangsad today to establish a university for developing and enhancing higher education, research and quality of services in medical education in Khulna region.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Zahid Maleque placed the bill in the House with Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
Piloting the bill, the minister said the enactment of the bill will help to disseminate medical education and research for the people.
Earlier, the cabinet in principal approved a draft of the “Sheikh Hasina Medical University, Khulna Act, 2020” to establish a medical university in the Khulna division.
The minister urged the House to send the bill to the concerned parliamentary standing committee for providing reports within seven days.
