Two get life imprisonment in narcotics case
DHAKA, Jan 17, 2021 (BSS) – Two women drug traders were sentenced to
life imprisonment today in a case lodged over recovery of total 180
grams of heroin in capital’s BFDC area in 2018.
The two convicts are drug traders Helena Akter and Afia Begum.
Dhaka 7th Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Tehsin Iftekhar
pronounced the judgment in presence of the two convicts today. The
court also sentenced them Taka 20 thousand each.
According to the case documents, police arrested the duo from in
front of the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) area on
November 14, 2018, and recovered the drugs from them. The case was
filed against them with Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station.
