Billal and Kibria elected Mayors of Muktagacha & Phulbaria Municipalities
MYMENSINGH, Jan 17 2021 (BSS) – Billal Hossen Sarker and Golam Kibria of Awami League nominated candidates were elected Mayors of Muktagacha and Phulbaria Municipalities.
The election was held yesterday amidst much enthusiasm. Billal got 17,320 votes while his nearest candidate Shafiqul Islam (BNP) got 5261 votes.
A total of Five mayoral candidates 44 councilors and 13 female candidates for reserved seats contested in the polls.
Percentage of casting votes is 71.4 said Muktagacha upazila Election Officer
Tazul Raihan Assistant Returning Officer told BSS that elected nine councilors are Moniruzzaman, Motiur Rahman, Abdur Razzaque Akandh,Md. Amzad Hossen, Md, Abdul Hakim, Md, Saiful Islam, Mirza Abul Kalam, Abdul Hanif Mirza and Bazlur Rahman.
Three elected female councilors for reserved seats are Momtaz Begum, Fatema Khatun Shekha and Jasmin Akter.
