Bangladesh witnesses remarkable progress: Speaker

DHAKA, July 11, 2018 (BSS) – Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin
Sharmin Chaudhury today said Bangladesh has made a considerable progress in
different socio-economic indices.

“We have achieved the targets of MDGs (Millennium Development
Goals)….Now we are focusing on fulfilling targets of SDGs (Sustainable
Development Goals) by 2030,” she made the comments when UNDP Residential
Representative to Bangladesh Sudipto Mukharjee called on Dr Shirin Sharmin
Chaudhury at the latter’s office.

Recalling the support of UNDP to the different development sectors, Dr
Chaudhury hoped that UNDP would extend their cooperation for further progress
of Bangladesh, an official release said.

During the meeting, they discussed various development projects funded by
UNDP.

Sudipto said, “UNDP is a development partner of Bangladesh for a long
time….It will continue its support for the development of the country.”
