World Population Day observed in Narsingdi
Narsingdi, July-11, 2018 (BSS) – The World Population Day -2018 was
observed in Narsingdi district as elsewhere in the world today with a call to
develop the nation with family planning and empowering people.
To observe the day, Department of Family Planning organised a colourful
rally in the district town led by Deputy Commissioner, Narsingdi Seyda
Farhana Kawnine.
The rally was brought out from Deputy Commissioner’s office premises and
ended at local Shilpakala Academy compound.
After the rally, a discussion with Additional Deputy Commissioner
(General) Abdul Awal in the chair was held at local Shilpakala Acdamy hall
room.
The theme of the day ‘Family planning is a Human Right’ aims at
providing safe voluntary family planning.
Deputy Commissioner Seyda Farhana Kawnine addressed the discussion as the
chief guest while Deputy Director Local Government Division ATM Mahabubul
Karim and former Principal of Narsingdi Government College Professor Mohammad
Ali addressed it as special guests.
Deputy Director, Department of Family Planning Abdur Razzak presented
the welcome speech.
The discussion was also addressed, among others, by Assistant Director of
Family Planning Narsingdi Dr Obaidul Kabir, Vice chairman of Polash upazila
parishad Alam Mollah and Chairman of Dhanga union parishad Saberul Hie.
