3,250 underprivileged children get education materials in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Jan 14, 2021 (BSS) – Some 3,250 unprivileged children of disadvantaged families received educational materials in a function here today to continue their studies smoothly in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan distributed the educational materials among the unprivileged children in the function held at Anirban Community Center in the city as the chief guest.

Rangpur Area Program Cluster Manager of World Vision Bangladesh (WVB) Anukul Chandra Barman presided over the function participated by the education materials recipient children and their parents.

The distributed educational materials among the children included government books as well as notebooks, pens and pencils.

The chief guest said education is the backbone of every nation and there is no alternative to education and no country or nation can prosper without education.

“The children should pay more attention to their regular studies,” he said, and urged the parents to pay close attention to their children to make them properly educated.

He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been providing free books at the beginning of the year since 2010 to ensure education of all children and make them worthy citizens to build a developed Bangladesh.

The chief guest thanked WVB for providing education materials to the unprivileged children to make them more focused on their studies.

Among others, Field Technical Specialist (Livelihood) of WVB Md. Tahmidur Rahman, its Sponsorship Child Safety Officer Apollo M Das and Program Officer for Rangpur Area Program Rani Rita Costa attended the function.
