2,994 cases filed for violation of traffic rules
DHAKA, July 11, 2018 (BSS) – Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan
Police (DMP) in their simultaneous drives on the city streets on Tuesday
filed 2,994 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule
violation.
It also realized Taka 21lakh as fine from owners, said an official
release.
Of the total cases, 218 cases were lodged for driving on wrong sides, 159
for using hydraulic horn, 12 for using hotter and beckon light and 137 others
for using tinted glass.
Some 207 cases, including 161 video cases, were registered against drivers
of different modes of vehicles on charges of talking over mobile phone while
they were driving.
It also dumped 28 vehicles and wrecked 772 others.
Besides, 629 cases were filed against motorcycles and 83 motorbikes were
seized for the traffic rule violations.
