ICMAB organizes series of workshops on cost audit

DHAKA, Jan 13, 2021 (BSS) – The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) has organized a special series of workshops on cost audit.

Lokman Hossain Mia, Secretary of Ministry of Textiles and Jute was present as chief guest at the ‘Cost Audit in Textile Industry’ session yesterday.

A. K. M. Delwer Hussain, President of SAFA and former President of ICMAB was the special guest on the occasion while CMA Neeraj D. Joshi was present as resource person , said a press release.

The Textiles and Jute Secretary said Bangladesh is now self reliant thus the country is now not dependent on others.

He noted that the government has successfully dealt with the difficult situation in COVID-19 due to the courageous steps by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Describing the workshop as very time befitting, Lokman called upon the CMA professionals to play a dedicated role for the nation through their hard work.

A. K. M. Delwer Hussain appealed the Secretary for appropriate assistance to further expand the job opportunities for CMA professionals so that they can play an important role in the national economic development by utilizing professional skills.

He also thanked ICA India for its significant contribution to the workshop.

ICMAB President Md. Jasim Uddin Akand in his speech highlighted the cost and management accounting profession and its need in various important sectors.

On behalf of the Institute, he drew the attention of the Textiles and Jute Secretary to properly enforce the issue of making cost audit mandatory in all limited companies as per government guidelines.

ASM Shaykhul Islam, Council Member and former President, ICMAB, and also Chairman of the Cost Audit and Professional Consultancy Cell Committee, briefed the need for cost auditing in all sectors of the economy.

ICMAB Vice President Md. Mamunur Rashid conducted the program and presented his views on the topic.
ICMAB Secretary Md. Munirul Islam delivered the welcome address while ICMAB Vice President Abu Bakar Siddique gave the vote of thanks.
